LEADERSHIP MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Some Things in Which I am Interested

Scholarships for Eagle Scouts and Gold Award Girl Scouts -

Members of the Maryland House of Delegates would like to pass a bill, HB296, that would exempt Eagle Scouts and Golden Award Girl Scouts from tuition at Maryland public colleges. WBAL-TV is taking a public poll on this. There are three things I would you to do. First, please click on this link, review the story, take a look at the bill, and add your voice to the WBAL-TV survey. When you are done, click on your browser Back button.

Thank you.

The next thing you can do to help is contact members of the General Assembly. The bill is before the Appropriations Committee. Please contact your delegates and the Appropriations Committee to let them know how you feel. You can send them mail, or e-mail, or telephone their offices. To get their contact information, click the link below and get the information you need.

Contact your Legislators  Maryland General Assembly and the Appropriations Chairman Norman Conway. You can also obtain a copy of the bill at this website. Be sure to put HB296 in the subject of any correspondence, including email, and don't forget to include your address so they know they represent YOU! You can add the names of other, like-minded members of your household, too.

The next thing you can do to help these deserving young men and women is copy this message into a new email that you send to all the people you know who care about the accomplishments of these dedicated kids. Please don't forward the message. For many people it arrives as an attachment that scares people from opening it. If the message isn't read, people cannot act.

And lastly, please let me know that you have acted by clicking this link and sending me an email. I did it!

We all have a responsibility to participate in our governance. This is an opportunity.
